So March 19 was my first 5K in some time. I figured it would help me train for my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer, remind me to post about that some time to. The race went well, I ran it in 31.9 minutes and was 959 out of 1800 people...I know nothing to brag about, but I ran it, I never walked, and I feel like I'm back in. So to me that was a little victory, just might do y victory dance, Lord knows I did my victory eating. After the race we went to possibly my favorite restaurant Mamma Mias in Plymouth, Ma, then off to Cupcake Charles for a little something something. Now I'm on the prowl for a 10K or 1/2 marathon to do before my 38 mile walk in May. Let's see what happens. Here's some pictures of the day....please notice that I had the cutest cheering section in the whole race. Nothing like booking it into high speed at the end when you can hear "Go mommy go mommy" got to make it look good for the kids right ;0)
Here's a little recipe to help you have energy for your runs or just keep up with the kids. I got this recipe from Raw Food Made Easy
4-6 chopped strawberries
2 tsp raw cocao powder
3/4 cup of raisins
10 pitted merjdool dates
1/4 cup of shredded coconut
extra for rolling bites in
Take all ingredients except strawberries and extra coconut and pulse in food processor, until ball of dough form. Then scoop out a tbs spoon of "dough" flatten and form cup and fill with strawberries and close up dough and shape into ball, now roll in bowl of extra shredded coconut and devour oh I mean enjoy. Store in fridge if you actually have any left.
