Food post....aren't those the best. What I'm devouring lately.

I love blog world. You come across amazing blogs that introduce you to so many great things. My favorite is food blogs, not just food but good for you food blogs. My mom was always into healthy eating. We never carried soda in our house unless it was for a birthday party. Even chocolate milk wasn't chocolate milk in my house we had Ovaltine. Only when I'd go to my grandpa's house would I get the real stuff of chocolate milk (good memories). We ate a lot of soup, a lot of vegetable soup. So because of my mom I love...no really love to eat healthy, and I say Thank you mom!
Now let's fast forward now I'm married with children and my dear husband is the opposite (I guess opposites attract) so it's been more of a challenge on eating healthy mostly on the grocery budget, with a family of 6. As of late though I have been enjoying these fantastic smoothies.
They are called The Green Monster...and I am in love. I got them from here  http://ohsheglows.com/  by far my favorite blog. When you have time check her out.
Here is the recipe...perfect for days I don't want to bring out the juicer and just use my blender. I did alter the recipe a little to my liking.

Green Monster

1 cup almond milk ( I use chocolate almond milk some times)
1 tablespoon of ground flaxseed
1 tablespoon of almond butter
1 banana
3 big frozen strawberries
2 handfuls of organic spinach

Blend together until all blended and mmmmm enjoy

Another thing that I have been enjoying is fruit salsa.....best dessert I have ever had. I went to a tupperware..p.s if you need tupperware check her out... http://joyfulmelody.blogspot.com/2011/11/you-need-tupperwarewell-ive-got-girl.html
So while I was there I learned about this salsa, and now am addicted.

Fruit Salsa

1 apple ..peeled and cored
6-7 strawberries hulled
1 kiwi peeled
1-2 tablespoon of apple jelly

I put it all together in my little chopper
Blend into salsa consistency. Pour into bowls and enjoy with cinnamon sugar pita chips....caution it is so good you might eat a whole bag of pita chips and not realize till you reach the last crumb....just warning you.
What are you devouring lately?

I also started using and adapting Montessori materials in my homw preschool b
ack in the ’70's…(wow I am old!) before I had completed my training.I totally agree
in hoping that the world of Montessori will be opened to many young families!
